Jefferson R. Riley of Conyers was elected to serve on the Board of the Printing Industries of America, Inc./Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) during the organization’s Administrative Meetings held in San Francisco.

Riley, president of THP Communications Corporation in Conyers, will serve a three-year term, which began immediately following conclusion of the Administrative Meetings held in November. The PIA/GATF Board of Directors supervises PIA/GATF, its affairs, policies, funds, and property, and has specific responsibility to approve programs and budgets for each year. As a Board member, Riley will assist in providing oversight and guidance to the world’s largest graphic arts trade association.

While this mark’s Riley’s first term of service to his industry association on a national level, Riley has a long-standing tenure as a local industry leader. Riley was elected to the Printing Industry Association of Georgia (PIAG) Board in 1997. PIAG is a state affiliate of PIA/GATF, serving more than 500 printing and graphics-related firms in Georgia. Riley has served PIAG twice as board chairman, and currently serves as immediate past chairman. PIAG recently recognized Riley for his strong vision and committed leadership with the inaugural presentation of the Phoenix Award.

Riley began his career in printing and graphics more than 25 years ago. He established Commercial Printing Services in 1980 and merged with THP in 1987. Jefferson has grown the company from 3 employees to its current 49. For 4 consecutive years, THP was cited as one of the nation’s top 50 fastest growing printing companies. The company specializes in design, printing, and sign production. In addition to THP, Jefferson is also the owner of Riley Construction, Riley Properties and Riley Landscaping.

Riley maintains active involvement in his local community. He has served as vice chairman of the Hospital Authority of Rockdale County; was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Conyers — where he has served as president and lieutenant governor. Conyers/Rockdale Chamber of Commerce named Jefferson as the 1995 Business Person of the Year. Riley is also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Conyers.
